An intuitive Golden Working Artist in the Midwest

I first saw Merle Rosen on Artists Network where she hosts two acrylic painting workshops, both of which are set in her Blackbird Studios in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was delighted by Merle’s comfortable, confident, intuitive painting style and the familiar (to me) backdrop of shelves full of Golden Acrylics, much like my own little art space, lol. That combined with her Midwest setting (complete with open windows and the sound of nearby trains), her long hair and hippie flair, made me think of her as the “big sister artist” that I always wanted. 😉

Merle began her art career with black and white drawings, then progressed to pastels, ink, acrylic, and even textiles. She has been creating digital collage art since the late 1990s, and has also produced sculptures made of glass and of bronze. She is currently a Golden Working Artist and teaches classes and workshops using Golden Acrylics.
