Studying the topic of archaeology can be intriguing!

But what IS archaeology?

Archaeology is the study of humans and their cultures throughout time, by examining physical evidence such as city ruins, remaining artworks, tools, and written records. It draws upon the knowledge of a number of related fields such as anthropology, art history, geography, linguistics, and paleontology.

If you are interested in learning about archaeology, how it is done, and what some of the great archaeological sites show us, I highly recommend the Great Courses: Archaeology: An Introduction to the World’s Greatest Sites, a 24-part series by National Geographic and presented by Professor Eric H. Cline, PhD.
